This is what the bees do inside the hive in the winter. Just like the penguins, they rotate the outside ring so the bees in the inside can keep warm, the queen at the center. Hope they start warm this week!

A little peachier but still looks ashen. She is a little darker in complexion than the digital image I fixed her forehead. I think the earring is coming out well. The reflection in the mirror behind her is pretty cool.

Anyone want honey for the holidays? IM me for your order. I had makings on one more gift basket if anyone is interested -$25 for the basket. $14, $16, $18 and $32 for 12, 14, 16 and 32 ounces respectively.

The pics of the baskets are examples. The mug and tea will be similar but not the same. I source these items one at a time so each basket is unique.

I go to Vasa next Saturday for my Vasa friends.

I tried the sponge on the right. Don’t know about mixing techniques. I like to go back and the end and fix the saturation and fix the edges. It’s going to be difficult with this because of how many shades I used and the scale of it. I seem to keep making them bigger.

Hi everyone. I still have plenty of honey and would love to make my goal. Please IM me if you are interested.

Next year, I want to plant more pollinator plants. I was able to get some water totes for the yard and figured out a way to fill them (Thanks Nancy and Tom). Another Ash tree has to come down. A multi trunk tree riddled with the Emerald Ash Bore. I’m saving a tree from vines and want to put a fence around it made of pallets to prevent vines from climbing back around the tree.

Im working on the car in the background. Pic one is my painting. Pic 2 is the digital composition made in Photoshop as a guide. Third pic is painting but a broader view. I like layering paint. The black I’m using (Liquidex) is sort of watery. I think it’s for mixing. I have to put down a layer and let it dry a little - not unlike when you get your nails done. Layer one has to dry a little … but not completely before layer two.

I’m so excited about these two handmade Balsam Fir filled pillows. I’m going to put them out at the Christmas market. They smell so nice. I can remember Mrs Bepler and Mrs Shepard from Hickory St who always had these pillows out at Christmas. The most beautiful pine scent. Maybe I’ll plant a Balsamic Fir at the yard!

I started this last weekend. We are light on plans so I’m going to dig into this one. I took this picture at our Vespa service center in Brooklyn when we took our Vespa for its annual service. l stylized it in Photoshop and am using it as the basis for the painting.

Why have them produced and shipped from half way round the world instead of paying a little more for them here and less on fossil fuel? It’s better for you and the honey. Down with plastic!
